Eight More Things You Never Knew Could be Custom Made

We’ve previously looked at eight things you may not have realized could be custom made.  Items like billiard tables and carved signs, custom or not, aren’t things you normally see everyday in the typical home.  It’s not surprising that you may not have considered having them customized.  Sometimes, however, seeing something everyday can blind you.  An object can be “hidden in plain sight,” as they say.  Here are eight things you probably encounter so often you may not have considered the customization possibilities available.

1. Rocking Chairs

A rocking chair can be enjoyed by people of all ages.  Having one in a room is an invitation for everyone to try it out.  Nevertheless, finding a rocking chair the right size for, say, a child can be difficult.  People of all ages come in all sizes, too.  Why not have a rocking chair custom built so you can rest your arms at just the right height and throw your head back with just the right support?

2. Benches

Benches are often considered generic and unobtrusive and valued more for their function than as décor.  However, a custom-made bench can be any shape and size you desire.  A custom design carved into the bench will give it a unique and luxurious look you cannot find in a mass-produced bench.

Computers are so pervasive today we seldom realize how much time we spend sitting at a desk at work and at home.  Desks are readily available in retail stores, but finding a desk with all the features you want can be difficult.  Just as with rocking chairs, the right size is important for your comfort.  A customized desk is a guarantee you will get the maximum enjoyment from your purchase.

7. Clocks

You need to know what time it is.  Although we depend on a wide variety of timekeeping devices in our daily lives, a clock presents many options for home décor and customization.  Clocks can rest on a mantle or shelf, hang on a wall, or stand tall (or lean with great character) as a grandfather clock.   Wherever you need a clock in your home, an artisan can design one that will fit its surroundings perfectly.
