Last week, I was writing about our friend Jim Ayer of J.C. Ayer & Co Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles and the custom made puzzle he was gracious enough to send to us. We have definitely enjoyed working on it and I thought I’d let everyone know how its coming along!
Shortly after we received the puzzle, Jim gave me a very appreciated phone call to give us a few hints about the puzzle seeing as we’ve found it to be quite difficult. These hints also gave my a deeper appreciation as to how unique his works are. His hints were these:
- There are 2 figure pieces for each corner of the puzzle
- The two figure pieces relate to one another
- Jim’s signature piece, a cat shaped piece, goes in the middle of the puzzle
Aside from this, we’ve also learned that the puzzle includes negative space, which is something none of us have seen in a puzzle before! There seems to be a new surprise with each piece we are able to fit together.
We are excited about the headway we’re making with the puzzle, though we STILL don’t know what it depicts! You can see our overall progress below. Leave us a comment! What do you think the picture is of? Can you recognize the figure pieces? You can also see all of the additional puzzle related items we have on CustomMade.com here.
