Introducing Cassie!!

If you’ve read any of our blogs about our interior designer, or seen our new “Design it!“ section of CustomMade.com, you must now be aware that our ranks have grown by one to make way for someone who knows a bit more about style than the rest of us. Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce Cassie: CustomMade’s full time in-house interior designer.

It’s been a few short months, but since we’ve launched the ability for consumers to chat live with Cassie on our website, she has already proven herself as a designer and is already starting to be a bridge across the chasm that stands between the average consumer’s imagination, and a real life custom piece made just for them. In her own words, she describes her role at CustomMade:

“I am an interior designer that joined CustomMade about two months ago to help develop and run a new portion of the site; a service called “Design It”. CustomMade is a great platform to be able to search and find artisans in your area that can handcraft a wide range of amazing pieces. But there are those that are coming to the site in need of a particular piece of furniture, looking to add a built-in element within a space, or tackling a remodeling project and they just don’t know where to start. In order to help people with this very dilemma this feature was created to be an exciting tool that helps a consumer to translate their vision into a realistic design and find a custom artisan to create those very projects. Potential customers as well as designers can use the site to identify what kind of help they need in order to get their custom projects and pieces created. At Design It, you choose the category most related to you. Whether you know that there is a specific piece or project that you would like but need to have it designed, or are interested in design services but don’t exactly what kind of piece or project you want yet, I can help you through the process of translating your ideas into an actual design to submit to artisans in your area. You can also submit your name and contact info for more information about our services, or simply chat live with me through the site if you just have a few questions with something you need help with.

For designers, the site is great because if a designer has a project, commercial or residential and needs to find someone to create say, a custom built in or a piece of furniture or even a new kitchen, they can post their project designs to me and I can match them with appropriate artisans for bid. That way the designer gets competitive pricing and finds who and what they need all in one place. I think as designers, unless you have a connection with someone in the trade, finding that person for your project is not that easy. So for my fellow designers, this site is so helpful for that and a really great tool!

As a designer here at CustomMade, I love tackling everyone’s design projects and inquiries. Every day brings a different new and exciting project! They are all so unique to help develop and sometimes they prove to be real design dilemmas, some can be really challenging! I enjoy the opportunity I get to design these custom pieces and projects, matching them with the right artisans in their area and manage the project through its creation. The designer, customer and artisan process is all done over the web, so I get to work on projects all over the country! And from here the Design It page will develop forward to even bigger and better features, so it will be great to help it grow!”

Originally from Southern New Hampshire, Cassie grew up loving projects. This was apparent as her bedroom was subjected to numerous rearranging/decor makeovers. After a simple geometry class “dream house” project was taken WAY too far, she realized she had the designer bug. Cassie then moved to the Boston area and graduated from the Boston Architectural College.  Outside of CustomMade.com, Cassie can usually be found at her favorite spots in the Boston/Brookline area. When not thinking about all things design, she spends her free time expanding her skills as an amateur photographer, tending to her container gardens, cooking up new recipes or hanging with family, friends and her favorite Pomeranian on the planet, Digby.
