CustomMade.com Volunteer Day at East End House!

Reid with his cofee - as usual

On Friday, November 19th, the CustomMade crew took some time out from chasing website bugs, implementing new features, and helping our Artisan subscribers get signed up – we decided to volunteer at the East End House near our office in Cambridge, MA. For over 135 years, East End House has offered innovative programming to our community here in East Cambridge, and it continues to strive for excellence as we look to the future.

Thanksgiving Bags Ready for Pick Up!

We helped read to kids in the after-school program, did some improv theatre with the older kids, and then we helped organize canned goods to distribute in the Thanksgiving drive to help feed needy families in our community.  For those folks cleaning out their pantry (or hopefully, their custom pantry), CustomMade was thrilled to help get the food to a good place.  Here are some shots of the excursion!

As it turns out, a lot of people bring cans of soup to a food drive.  So Nader and I, being the problem-solvers that we are, decided to establish a separate category for soups.  It was very well received.  Later in the day, we made a bold move to establish a “legumes” category, but that attempt was less enthusiastically welcomed.
