She knew exactly what she wanted to get him for Christmas:

They were at a fair the other weekend, and they both spotted this extraordinary animal-shaped cutting board…it was one of those stop-you-in-your-tracks-and-make-you-look-twice things, definitely not your typical kitchenware. Jocelyn was instantly inspired, both by the cutting board and by her husband’s joyful reaction to it: if she could find a cutting board shaped like an elk, his favorite animal, it would not only be a personal, meaningful gift, but he’ll use it every time he cooks!

Armed with creative determination and her computer keyboard, Jocelyn set out to find someone, somewhere, to make the perfect elk-shaped cutting board…

Thankfully, she happened to find CustomMade! And the rest is history…

We routed around for the perfect maker for the job.  Jocelyn wound up connecting with maker David Gilbert of Woodwright Innovations.

“I emailed several of the woodworkers you suggested and David Gilbert said he would be happy to make the cutting board and already sent me a blue print!
