From yarn to loom to handwoven rug: CustomMade.com gets a custom office rug

Introducing Will Hargrove: one of CustomMade’s newest Makers, Will founded Ramri Rugs a decade ago to create unique and inspiring handmade rugs which he calls “art under foot”. The company is based in Bend, Oregon and the team of hand weavers are based in Katmandu Valley, Nepal.

Customers select the pattern, size, and colors (even a digital picture can be turned into a rug pattern!)  and Will’s team creates a color rendering and a handmade sample for the customer to approve before the rug weaving gets underway.

Steve Bears, a guitar connoisseur and a stalwart member of CustomMade’s business development team, initiated what’s becoming one of our coolest custom office projects to date: a handwoven custom rug with the CustomMade.com logo!

Step 1: Once you send Ramri Rugs your pattern, size and colors, they create a digital rendering of your custom rug design. For our custom office rug we chose the CustomMade.com thumbprint logo, the stamp of each Maker's individual skills that go into every custom piece

Step 2: The undyed yarn is gathered and selected. Ramri Rugs believes strongly in using materials that have gone through natural processes that are eco-friendly
