Whether you’re redoing a room that’s pinched for space or trying to give a remote corner a more welcoming face to the world, custom made cabinetry specifically designed for your home’s most troublesome intersections is the solution you’ve been seeking. Do you need particular cabinet doors? Have to contend with a challenging arrangement of existing windows and furniture? Take heart and take a look at a few corner projects our CustomMade artisans have completed for their clients.
Does your dream custom cabinet exist only as an unattainable antique, a photo in a magazine, or just in the corners of your mind? Artisans Moriah Doucette and Matthew Wolfe of Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers can take your inspiration and create your piece in your choice of style and size. This corner cupboard in cherry features salvaged antique wavy glass on the 8-pane door and a hand rubbed finish for a soft, aged look. It also has upper and lower sections that can be separated to make moving easier. Contact the artisans and discuss your cabinetry needs.
Not all corners are tucked into the edges of rooms. Take a look at this beautiful cherry kitchen by North Park Woodcraft Ltd. and imagine how disruptive a straight edged corner jutting into the room would be. The rounded corner display cabinet and hutch not only create usable space but also contribute to this kitchen’s warm tone. Contact artisan Clyde Miller and smooth out the edges of your kitchen with a custom cabinet design.
Need corner cabinets to match the formal tone of a dining room and serve as striking conversation pieces? These illuminated corner display cabinets by Frederick William Signature Furniture & Interiors help create “an awesome dining experience” for this home in Greenwich, CT, says Frederick Anken. Cherished collectibles and fine china take the spotlight behind leaded beveled glass, while the traditional moulding and wainscoting seamlessly integrate the cabinet into this space. Good article…corners are often a problem area in the home and your examples show well executed solutions. A less common corner furnishing challenge is presented when a room has an odd angle….more or less than 90 degrees. This almost always requires a custom made solution. Here’s a corner unit I designed for a pottery enthusiast to fit a 112 degree inside corner in his home.
