CustomMade at the Craftboston Spring Show
The Society of Arts and Crafts held its Craftboston Spring show the weekend of March 23, 2012, at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. Among the amazingly talented artisans at the show were CustomMade makers Dan Klein, Lauren Blais, Steve Altman, and Paula Garbarino. Adam and Tammy from the CustomMade marketing team were there to show their support. Seeing these artisans’ creations in person really makes you appreciate the skill and attention to detail they put into everything they make!
Over 200 makers displayed a variety of furniture, jewelry, glass, ceramic, and other handmade one-of-a-kind works. We were blown away by their creativity and invited a number of them to join, so look for a great group of new makers on the site soon.

Steampunk was a special focus of this year’s Craftboston Spring show. Browse our galleries and check out more works by CustomMade artisans inspired by this curious genre that re-imagines Victorian era technology advancing in fantastic ways.

CustomMade maker Lauren Blais displayed her haunting, handcrafted jewelry inspired by Victorian mourning jewelry with a modern, edgy twist.

CustomMade maker Steve Altman takes “pieces of considered wood,” joins them “in a specified pattern,” and creates simple yet beautiful boxes.

CustomMade maker Dan Klein specializes in unique custom furniture that unites his customers’ ideas and desires with his knowledge of design and materials.
