So we at CustomMade have a little problem!
In the past 22 months, we have gone from a website with 1,200 photos to a site with over 10,500 individual listings and around 25,000 individual photos.
This increase in content in a short period of time has caused us to get creative about how we approve content, and where this content gets indexed on our site. It is almost a full time job just to make sure that the listings on our site are in the right galleries... This drives user experience, which drives more buyers for our custom makers. In short, it is a very important job for our company and for our members.
To solve this issue, we have split up each of our categories into individual landing pages, we now have over 200 of these pages.. We then ask our subscribers to add up to 5 attributes to each of their projects. We then have some style experts to make sure that the tags people are using to describe their projects are accurate and helpful to the consumer...
But, like any start up in our position, we are fighting to make this site better and more rich in content; sometimes however, we have our troubles! I have to say that when we started CustomMade, we didn t really think about the exponential growth in content, and how we were going to handle this very real problem!
