As an accomplished knitter, Jennifer Vestal used to constantly find herself searching for the perfect buttons to complement her wearable artwork. After a number of failed attempts to find exactly what she was looking for, Jenny decided to give button-making a go. With impressive attention to detail, Jenny crafted one-of-a-kind buttons out of silver and bronze clay and jennybuttons was born.
Early on in button making, Jenny made a vow to never use a commercially made mold, allowing her work to be undeniably CustomMade. “I love it because it pushes me to do things I never thought I’d do and to learn things I never thought I’d learn,” said Jenny. And with kiln temperatures reaching a staggering 1650 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s no wonder her custom creations are such a hot commodity.
With her start on CustomMade came a jennybuttons expansion into the world of custom pendants and charms. Jenny now carefully crafts handmade stamps and creates an assortment of customized pendants. In a recent project, Jenny found herself making a pendant that really hit close to home.
For 66 years Jenny’s father wore a diabetes bracelet to represent his medical condition. Medical identification bracelets can be a lifesaver in life threatening situations for patients with severe illnesses. They help medics and even bystanders associate symptoms with a particular disease and aid in speedy diagnoses. Jenny’s father’s bracelet was, “a part of him,” as she put it. So when a Buyer reached out for a special jennybuttons medical ID for a loved one, Jenny couldn’t say no. “I get it,” Jenny said, “and it’s really nice to be able to make something so special.”
Jenny creates truly personalized works of art by crafting whole-heartedly and with the utmost attention to detail. Whether you’re looking for a new pendant for a special someone or you need to spice up your favorite shirt with a fresh set of buttons, jennybuttons is your one-stop-shop for custom creations.
