Eric Saperstein’s work featured on Animal Planet’s TV Show Tanked
Animal Planet has a brand new show called Tanked which chronicles the wild world of custom and large-scale aquarium tank building.
“Following the antics of two brothers-in-law as they run the largest aquarium manufacturing company in the nation, Tanked dunks viewers into the high-decibel, family-owned business of Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM). Led by business partners, best friends and constant rivals Wayde King and Brett Raymer, this 13,000 square foot facility, located in Las Vegas, produces some of the most outrageous, larger-than-life and one-of-a-kind tanks for some of the most striking fish and clients around.”
CustomMade Maker Eric Saperstein and the crew at Artisans of the Valley were asked to design create a one-of-a-kind creation for an episode of Tanked. The episode centers around creating a nautical-themed kids bed with, of course, a built-in fish tank (by Acrylic Tank Manufacturing). The theme of the bed was inspired by the children’s book “The Maggie B.” The bed was revealed to the child and his family as a dramatic and emotional surprise.

Says Eric Saperstein of this experience working on this project:
“Our work is often appreciated and admired, and we gain a personal satisfaction from creating heirlooms, but let’s face it, its furniture! How truly excited can anyone be? It’s a rare opportunity for us to have a direct and positive impact on a child’s life; this was definitely a project we’ll remember.”
Below are some more close-ups of what Eric and his team at Artisans of the Valley created.
