This Blog was created as a resource for consumers like me who recognize the value of having the items in their life custom made.  My name is Mike Salguero, and together with my partner Seth Rosen and a group of dynamic and idealistic team-members, I purchased CustomMade.com in early 2009.  I purchased the business because I believe that buying custom is the only way to buy – and I want to convince everyone else!

CustomMade.com is currently the number one stop on the Internet for locating a custom artisan.  Whether it’s a custom furniture maker, cabinetry installer, or even mosaic tile maker – anything that can be custom made and anyone who can make it will eventually be found on our website.

In my travels I have come across some incredibly talented custom woodworkers, craftspeople and artisans who are unable to focus on their craft because they are running a business. Their dedication to their art is compromised by their need to divert attention to the marketing, advertising and sales of their creations. I wanted to assist these people and created CustomMade.com to help. We at CustomMade have created a diverse community of artisans of all specialties as well as a support system to help them further their craft and reach out to prospective buyers. Members of our community are invited to post some of their finest work while we make sure that the greatest number of people are able to see it.

In my travels, I have also come across many people who have grown weary of purchasing furniture and other items through tired and traditional means. Retail is more ubiquitous and homogenous then ever and the current model of buying poor-quality items from big-box stores is unsustainable. The customer is yearning for something more durable; something crafted with skill, carved with passion and finished with artistry.  Something CustomMade.
