Classic, Space Saving Custom Entertainment Centers by Philip Snyder of PS Woodworking
Do you have “a set of working plans” or “just an idea or vision” for a custom woodworking project? Artisan Philip Snyder, owner and operator of PS Woodworking, can bring your project to life, even if you’re just starting with a need for extra storage and some dead space. Working out of Napa, CA, Philip has served an impressive list of prominent clients, ranging from the Getty Center Museum to entertainer Keenen Ivory Wayans to the Cosentino Winery, and “whether you are an architect, designer, contractor, home or business owner” he can help take your cabinetry, fine furniture, or finish carpentry project “from the drawing board to the finished product.” Here are some of the custom entertainment centers Philip has created for living rooms, libraries, and bedrooms.
This unique custom cherry built-in media center features one-of-a-kind moulding, half-round fluted columns, display shelves, cloth panels for hidden speakers, and, of course, space for a flat-screen TV and its electronic components and was designed, handcrafted, and installed by Philip to meet the needs of his client. Take a look at this space before this project began. The classic curved top of the new media center was fitted perfectly into the existing alcove arch, and the entire space is now not only beautiful but also usable.
Do you have a place in your home that you find difficult to utilize fully? PS Woodworking turned the area beneath a stairway into a media center with hidden storage for a client’s library. The bottom shelves take full advantage of the depth of the space with cleverly concealed storage room and file drawer-like pull out cabinets.
Have a project for one space that has two personalities? Before the remodel, these bedroom closets didn’t have much personality to start. Philip designed and created classic custom built-in His-and-Hers closets. Both feature all cedar interiors, mortise and tenon joined doors with beveled mirror panels, recessed lighting, and hidden clothes hampers. His closet, shown below, also sports a custom media center.
